Downloading/Registering on the Mobile app

With the new Mobile app technology, users will not go to an app store to download the mobile app, but will rather go to a link on their phone's browser to download the app to their phones. You can read more about it here.

Before sending the download/installation instructions to your members, make sure you have everything in place before you launch your app.

Downloading to an Android phone

To install the app:

Go to your phone's native browser and click on Mobile.GoDoChurch.com
You have the option to Login if you have a GoDoChurch Account or to Register if you do not have an account.
Click on Register, and then on Accept on the Privacy Policy.
Next, you will be prompted to select the church you want to sign into. You can search for your church if it isn't visible here by typing in the name of the Church in the Filter list box.
TIP: Administrators, make sure that you use a unique name for your church. There are many AFM churches. Use your church name and location when deciding on a database name. Contact Support if you need to change your Database name to something your members can identify
The next screen is where you need to submit your personal information for the Church. Complete all the fields and click on Signup.
Go to your email account and click the link in the email to verify your account.
Come back to the GoDoChurch page in your browser and use the login details you just created to log in.
The app will open on the News Channel section. Click on the Me icon and update your profile info, including adding a profile picture by clicking on Edit.
You will be prompted to allow notifications from GoDoChurch on your phone, click on Accept. If you decline, you will not be notified of news or messages sent via the app.
The app will be installed on your Home Screen. Please move it to somewhere visible on your phone as this is where all your church communication will be available.

You are now registered on the GoDoChurch App - play around and see where you can update your info and subscribe to church news channels.

Downloading to an Apple device

The same process to install the app is required for Apple users, except the app isn’t automatically installed on their device. To add the app to a user’s device, they need to go to the mobile app link in Safari and then follow the steps to add a bookmark to their home screen. This creates an icon on their home screen to access the app.

To install the app to an Apple device:

Go to your phone's Safari browser and click on Mobile.GoDoChurch.com.

Note: The app will not automatically be added to your device. You need to follow the extra steps below to add it to your home screen.

To add the app to your Homescreen you will need to Bookmark it. Note: only Safari browser has the option to Add to Home Screen:
- Tap the Share button at the top of the screen.
- Tap Add to Home Screen.
- You can now edit the name of the page.
- You can tap Cancel to leave this interface without sending the bookmark to the Home screen.
- Tap Add to complete adding the icon to the Home screen.
- Please move it to somewhere visible on your phone as this is where all your church communication will be available.
You are now registered on the GoDoChurch App - play around and see where you can update your info and subscribe to church news channels.

Apple does not support push notifications to this app at this stage. They are expected to include the capability with the next iOS version. Messages and News posts are delivered to the phone, the user is just notified of the message.
